Market-Meat Goat Camp<\/strong><\/em> 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Get prepared to be part of the ultimate Youth Showmanship Goat Camp. Our committee has worked hard to provide an opportunity for the kids starting out, to get a great foundation, in a friendly and inviting atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n

We have a great week planned for you to enjoy some family fun!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The format for Showmanship is the same as it has been, focusing on selection, preparation, and presentation. This year we have added more hands on husbandry segments. Each child entered will receive a printed work book, along with a personalized t-shirt to wear the first day to camp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The work book includes selection diagrams in conformation and a segment on birthing positions, provided by a wonderful artist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other fun activities are the Goat Trivia Contest with a Nacho Party the first night, Scavenger Hunt, Puzzles, Games, costume contest, pen decorating contest, and get ready to win the Herdsman Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The youth will spend some part of the camp together as a group and then be grouped for their respective interest in Showmanship, dairy or market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of the things the kids will learn: How to use and read score cards, proper position in setting up and bracing for show, grooming, clipping, nutrition and feeding, show ring etiquette, proper dress, feet trimming, and so much more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enter as soon as possible because the camps fill up quick. Plan to be busy for three solid days. If you enter, get plenty of rest prior to this event. It is intense and so much fun. See you in Sedalia, MO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
