The Ultimate Youth Goat Camps
The Youth Goat Camps are opportunities for your child to grow and learn from some of the industries leading professionals. This is an ultimate showmanship camp, that is limited to 25 youth, in each camp, for a total of 75 kids. The reason we limit the number of attendees is so that the kids get the attention they need. They can ask questions and be involved. The instructors are well in tune with the children and will work to help them improve. Your child will connect with the instructors and learn about selection, preparation, and presentation.
During the event, the children will work on perfecting their showmanship skills and abilities. At other times, the kids will come together and participate in the activities and games, in the evening. Other husbandry classes will bring the youth together to learn how to care for their stock. Having the kids come together, is a great way to make connections in the goat industry.
This camp includes class room and hands on practice in the arena that culminates into a final Showmanship Competition. The schedule builds so the children learn the ‘why’ that goes along with what they will be practicing.
We have a special sponsor for the grooming & fitting competition
Showmanship competition will begin with the Seniors, followed by the Intermediate, and Junior. Buckles and Banners for Awards!
The first evening is a Goat Trivia Contest, where the kids learn more about goats and have a good time connecting with their instructors and each other. The Goat Trivia is important because the judges will use similar questions during showmanship on the final day.
One of the most important things about the Youth Goat Camps is that we donate, in each child’s name, to the Missouri State Fair Foundation, earmarked for the new goat pavilion on the Missouri State Fairgrounds. The Midwest Buck Sale board presents a banner, with every child’s name on it, along with a check, to the Missouri State Fair Foundation that has the name of every youth that attends. They hang the banner at the state fair each year. The children are reminded that their participation in the Youth Goat Camp, is helping build the new goat pavilion on the fairgrounds, where they show and they are helping make that happen. The Midwest Buck Sale covers all costs associated with this fundraiser and asks for sponsorship assistance to have the event each year. If you are interested in helping make this event great, we appreciate your sponsorship.

Every child receives a personalized Youth Goat Camp t-shirt, with their name. All the kids wear their t-shirts the first day. It is a great way for everyone to get to know each other.
The camp is filled with youth activities that will help your child grow. Days begin at 9am.
There will be a sign up sheet at check in each morning. The list of activities will be posted and your child may sign up for anything they want to participate in.
